The vital energy in our body was also known as Prana in ancient times, meaning life force. Our body’s life essence, or vital energy, plays a critical role in our general health and well-being. For our lives to be smoother, we need to check on our vital energy; lack of vital energy can result in problems including fatigue, depression and illness. The right way of living is to have an overdosage of vital energy, which in turn helps to overcome deliberate problems. Let us understand the various elements to ensure enough amount of energy at all times.

Where vitalism explicitly invokes a vital principle, that element is often referred to as the “vital spark” or “energy”. Starting with the primary, the lowest chakra is Earth. The best way to get energy from Earth is by walking barefoot and walking in and through the nature. Feeling the cement on your feet may not give you a sparkling energy, however a walk in the nature may give you the best of pleasures. Speaking about the nature, food consumed naturally also gives energy. On the other hand, processed food with artificial contents have low energy. Anything in a natural state that has sun’s energy will have more prana. Hence, it is advised to consume a lot of leafy greens and other fruits and vegetables that are organically grown.

Second element being water, pure natural water is the key; meaning soft drinks, coffee, tea give less energy. As advised by most nutritionists, drink plenty of water. We can also drink charged water – prepared by boiling gold, silver or copper in water. Ancient households used to keep water in a copper vessel overnight and drink that water in the morning to absorb the nutrition of copper, so that the body takes in its benefits.
Next element being fire, the sun is the main source of energy. Regular sun exposure is the most natural way to get enough vitamin D. To maintain healthy blood levels, aim to get 10–30 minutes of sunlight, between 7:30 and 9:30 in the morning.

The best source of energy is in air, which is also one of the five elements of vital energy. Breathing natural fresh air strengthens your immune system. Increasing the amount of fresh air will increase the amount of oxygen that helps our white blood cells to function properly, by fighting and killing bacteria and germs. It is recommended to practice yoga and pranayama, and become aware of your breath. An extra tip: Your exhalation should be longer than your inhalation.

The final stop on our journey through the elements is Ether – also known as the fifth element or quintessence, is the material that fills the region of the universe. Since it is the synergy of all elements, the energy from ether comes from ‘thought’ environment. The kind of environment you are exposed to decides the amount and the kind of energy you take in. Stay among optimistic people, allowing their positive energy to flow inside you. Visit places of high vibration like temples, places of worship and meditation centres. Classically, you can also get energy from Guru or spiritual masters. Just like space is limitless and boundless, try to surround yourself with limitless positive energy, and have no boundaries to bring more of all elements into your life, by living a more conscious life.

Each of the five elements represent a distinct quality that is vital to the continual health and flow of nature, contributing to your body’s innate intelligence. They play a vital role, contributing to everything from personality traits to health and well-being.
Well, we understand that having the right kind of energy and good amount of energy is important throughout our lives. It is even more important to have extra energy during pregnancy. So do everything that needs to be done to enhance your energy levels to enjoy the pregnancy, child birth and parenting.
